Some trips are about ticking boxes.
Others are about learning how to rest again.
This 4D3N stay in Bintan was the latter.
We chose ANMON not for luxury in the traditional sense, but for space – space to slow down, to unplug and to step out of our usual pace. What we found was something quieter and more grounding than expected.
This is not a hype-driven review.
It’s an honest reflection on what it felt like to stay there.
Why We Chose ANMON
We wanted:
- a short getaway without a long journey
- something different from a standard hotel stay
- nature, but with comfort
- time that didn’t feel rushed or over-planned
ANMON’s glamping-style concept stood out – tents instead of rooms, open air instead of corridors and an environment designed to slow you down rather than stimulate you.
First Impressions
We took a ferry from Tanah Merah Ferry terminal. The sea was choppy and most passengers on board were not feeling well. Once we arrived at ANMON, we were greeted with such beautiful view that made me forgot about the choppy ferry ride and the travel sickness.
The tents immediately set the tone – soft canvas structures, neutral colours and a layout that encourages walking slowly rather than moving from point A to B quickly. The space feels intentional, not crowded.
There’s a subtle shift that happens when you stay somewhere like this:
your body relaxes before your mind does.
The Tent Experience
The tents were surprisingly spacious and thoughtfully designed.
Inside, everything felt purposeful:
- a comfortable bed
- air-conditioning
- clean, modern bathroom amenities
- enough space to move, unpack and settle in
What stood out most wasn’t the setup itself, but the absence of noise. No loud hallways. No constant background buzz. Just wind, distant voices and the occasional sound of activity nearby.
Sleeping felt deeper here.
Food & Dining
Meals were unhurried.
Food at ANMON is simple, well-presented and satisfying rather than extravagant. Breakfasts were buffet-style and relaxed. Dinners felt like something to look forward to after a slow day.
One of the highlights was the BBQ experience – fire, warmth and shared food naturally slow conversations down. There’s something grounding about eating while watching flames burn, without needing to rush back anywhere.
We also took a boat out to a Kelong Mangrove Restaurant one night and had lobsters, crabs, fish and other seafood. It was sumptuous and also an experience.

Activities & Pace
This is not a resort for packed itineraries.
Activities exist, but they don’t demand your attention. You’re free to:
- walk aimlessly
- sit and do nothing
- read
- talk
- sleep
- watch the sky change
That freedom is the real luxury here.
If you’re looking for high-energy entertainment, this may not be your place. But if you’re looking to reset your nervous system, it does its job quietly and well.

What We Appreciated Most
- The intentional design that supports rest
- A slower rhythm built into the environment
- Privacy without isolation
- A stay that doesn’t feel performative
- The ease of disconnecting from routine
It felt like a place that understands the value of less.
Who This Stay Is For
ANMON is ideal if you:
- want a short, low-effort escape
- feel mentally tired rather than physically tired
- enjoy quiet experiences
- appreciate thoughtful design
- are looking to slow down, not do more
It may not suit travellers who:
- want nightlife or constant activities
- prefer traditional hotel structures
- need fast-paced stimulation
Final Thoughts
This stay reminded us that rest doesn’t always come from doing nothing – sometimes it comes from being in the right environment.
ANMON doesn’t try to impress loudly.
It invites you to arrive, settle and exhale.
And sometimes, that’s exactly what a trip needs to be.
