The Art of Doing Nothing
We didn’t go to Bali to see the sights. We went to disappear.
Before the chaos of work reclaimed our schedules, we carved out five days in Nusa Dua with a singular mission: to relax. No maps, no itineraries, no alarms. Just the salt air, the heavy humidity of the tropics, and the luxury of an empty calendar.
This is how Bali slowed us down.
🌴 The Rhythm of the Resort 🌴
Our days followed a simple, repetitive, and perfect loop. We swapped the city’s concrete for the blue of the pool and the shade of a cabana. We spent hours lounging, reading half a page before drifting off, only to wake up and jump back into the water.
There is a specific kind of peace found at a pool bar—ordered drinks that arrive with a splash, the sun hitting the glass, and the realization that you have nowhere else to be. It was the reset we didn’t know we needed.

🍹 The Finds 🍹
♡ Balinese Comfort: We stayed close to our roots, eating local Balinese food that tasted of lemongrass, ginger, and the sea. Bold, fragrant, and deeply grounding.
♡ The Bar We Called Home: We stumbled upon a cocktail bar that became our nightly ritual. It wasn’t just about the drinks (though they were incredible); it was about the people. We made friends with the bartenders, sharing stories and laughs until we felt like locals in our own little corner of the island.
♡ Cabana Life: Our permanent residence for five days. A place for long conversations that went nowhere and meant everything.

✨ Things that filled our cup ✨
♡ The First Jump: That initial plunge into the pool that officially signals the start of vacation.
♡ Bartender Stories: Making genuine connections over shaken ice and local spirits.
♡ Pool Bar Sunsets: Watching the sky turn lilac while still waist-deep in water.
♡ The Quiet Before: Savoring the stillness before the “shittier” work reality kicked back in.

🕊️ Things that followed us home 🕊️
♡ The Salt Glow: Not just on the skin, but in the mind.
♡ Perspective: A reminder that “doing nothing” is actually doing a lot for the soul.
♡ The Memory of Ease: Carrying the warmth of the Nusa Dua sun into the colder, busier days at the office.
Bali wasn’t an exploration of a country, but an exploration of rest. We left the tourist sites for another time; for these five days, the resort was our entire world, and it was more than enough.

Ever wandering,
Mira ⟡
